Grade Level: PreK and Kindergarten - Elementary Physical Education
Physical education is an important piece of a child’s total educational program, and this level promotes the basics of physical activity, skill development and movement patterns, and social and emotional wellness. The mission of our department, at every level, is to create a safe environment that fosters the preparation of the student for-lifelong cognitive and kinesthetic activity. Our physical education curriculum includes a balance of skills, concepts, game activities, rhythms and dance experiences designed to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional development of every child. The daily lessons and monthly units will not just provide benefits on the mind and body in the classroom, but outside the classroom as well.

NetflexGrade Level: 1 - Elementary Physical Education
Physical education will be the start of developing your child’s overall well-being and becoming fully educated with social, mental, emotional, and physical skills during their time in the Interboro School District. First grade physical education will provide your child with basic skills of physical activity and reinforce their daily routines in an atmosphere that will provide enjoyment mixed with movement. The mission of our department, at every level, is to create a safe environment that fosters the preparation of the student for lifelong cognitive and kinesthetic activity. Our physical education curriculum includes a balance of skills, concepts, game activities, rhythms and dance experiences designed to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional development of every child. The daily lessons and monthly units will not just provide benefits for the mind and body in the classroom, but outside the classroom as well.

NetflexGrade Level: 2 - Elementary Physical Education
Physical education in 2nd grade will continue to build and become more of an integral role in your child’s comprehensive education program. The goal of physical education in your child’s second grade year will be to perfect the skills they learned the previous couple of years while maintaining the rules and procedures set throughout their school day. Second grade physical education will be the culmination of certain activities and will start the foundation of learning in grades 3rd -5th grade. The mission of our department, at every level, is to create a safe environment that fosters the preparation of the student for lifelong cognitive and kinesthetic activity. Our physical education curriculum includes a balance of skills, concepts, game activities, rhythms and dance experiences designed to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional development of every child. The daily lessons and monthly units will not just provide benefits for the mind and body in the classroom, but outside the classroom as well.

NetflexGrade Level: 3 - Elementary Physical Education
Physical education in 3rd grade will be the next stage of your child’s skill development in physical activity, cognitive learning of team sport, and promotion of physical activity outside the skill day. Elementary and the units/lessons are built in two phases and 3rd grade will be the foundation for the next phase of your child becoming physically educated. The goal or mission of our physical education department is to create a safe environment that fosters the preparation of the student for lifelong cognitive and kinesthetic activity. Our physical education curriculum includes a balance of skills, concepts, game activities, rhythms and dance experiences designed to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional development of every child. Classes are designed so that all children are involved in activities that allow them to be active during class, but most importantly, to be active outside of school in safe and healthy ways.

NetflexGrade Level: 4 - Elementary Physical Education
Physical education in 4th grade will be the next stage of your child’s skill development in physical activity, cognitive learning of team sport, and promotion of physical activity outside the skill day. 4th Grade will focus on the deeper learning of each unit and the skills to enhance the activity as well as focusing on the growth mindset of your child. Physical education will promote goal setting, overcoming realistic challenges set in front of them, and strengthen cooperative learning. The goal or mission of our physical education department is to create a safe environment that fosters the preparation of the student for lifelong cognitive and kinesthetic activity. Our physical education curriculum includes a balance of skills, concepts, game activities, rhythms and dance experiences designed to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional development of every child. Physical education in 5th grade is the culmination of your child’s learning to adopt a healthy lifestyle through skill development, cognitive learning of team sports, promotion of physical activity outside the skill day, and beginning to learn health and wellness concepts they will continue to learn over the next couple of years. The goal or mission of 5th grade physical education, and at every level, is to create a safe environment that fosters the preparation of the student for-lifelong cognitive and kinesthetic activity. The acquisition of techniques for self-discipline, consistency, and goal-setting guides the development of intellectual, physical, and social capacity. Our physical education curriculum includes a balance of skills, concepts, game activities, rhythms and dance experiences designed to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional development of every child. Classes are designed so that all children are involved in activities that allow them to be active during class, but most importantly to be active outside of school in safe and healthy ways.
